In a move that could revolutionize the way investors participate in the Bitcoin market, Grayscale Investments has introduced two new exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that offer a unique twist on traditional Bitcoin exposure. By utilizing covered call strategies, these ETFs provide investors with the potential to benefit from Bitcoin’s price movements without the need to directly own the cryptocurrency.

Grayscale Debuts Bitcoin ETFs with a Twist

Grayscale Investments is listing two exchange-traded funds, the Bitcoin Covered Call ETF (BTCC) and Grayscale Bitcoin Premium Income ETF (BPI), which provide investors with a modified source of income based on Bitcoin’s price movements. These funds use covered call strategies, allowing investors to benefit from Bitcoin’s potential upside without directly owning the asset. Instead, they invest in contracts that bet on the cryptocurrency’s performance, utilizing options Bitcoin exchange-traded products including Grayscale’s spot Bitcoin ETFs, GBTC and BTC.

These ETFs employ covered call writing strategies to generate income for investors while providing exposure to Bitcoin volatility. The new offerings cater to different investor goals and approaches, enabling them to earn through income-generating methods despite market fluctuations.

Alabama Moves Toward Bitcoin Investment with New Bill

A new bill (HB482) introduced by the Alabama House of Representatives on March 31st, 2025, aims to create a new investment strategy for the state to include Bitcoin and other digital assets. The bill has support from both Republicans and Democrats and seeks to incorporate digital asset investments into the state’s economic plan. If passed into law, this legislation could position Alabama as a leader in cryptocurrency adoption. The State Treasurer would be allowed to invest up to 10 percent of the fund balance in digital assets like Bitcoin.
